The first CorelDRAW was introduced in 1989 and 15 years later we got CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12, which rocked the design enthusiasts. Improving from the previous versions, CorelDRAW 12 had some brand new features that initiated a modern graphic design movement.
With the enhanced drawing tools CorelDRAW 12 brought design at the center of the attention once more. The graphic design professionals rated it very highly as an alternative for pen and paper, because of its efficiency.
The sketching experience was flawless because of the intelligent correction of unwanted movements and instant defect removal feature of the touch-up brushes. The aim of CorelDRAW 12 was to establish it as an efficient and intuitive graphics utility for designers of all levels.
The smart drawing tool was the best feature of this version. It accurately detected what shape the designers were aiming for and created perfect shapes like rectangle, ellipse, or triangle. That saved valuable time and instead of perfecting each line and curve, the designers had the freedom to be more artistic.
CorelDRAW 12 was a perfect example of a versatile graphics software because it supported all the native file formats of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe PDF, and Adobe Illustrator.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 had 3 applications for different purposes. CorelDRAW was used mainly for vector graphics, Photo-Point for painting and editing bitmap images, and another fine tool, Rave for creating awesome animations. Seamless suite-wide integration between the applications enabled the users to work and switch within the same interface effortlessly. The idea of attaching 3 utilities in a single suite helped the designers greatly for their multi needs.
