Renowned as a legendary graphics software, JASC Paint Shop Pro first came to the market in 1990. The name was derived from its developer software company, JASC (Jets and Software Company) founded by Robert Voit. The initial edition was only able to convert image formats between BMP, GIF and PCX. The following versions were gradually enhanced with a bunch of graphics utilities. JASC Paint Shop Pro 7 was a rich edition that offered some key features like easy retouch, automatic photo enhancement, repair and edit options for the first time. The two later editions were released based on the success of the 7th and they were remarkable too. After the release of JASC Paint Shop Pro 9, Corel purchased the rights to this software and re-launched it as simply PaintShop Pro. PaintShop Pro or PSP quickly became very popular among graphics enthusiasts. Containing all the core essence of JASC, Corel's latest PaintShop Pro is one of the best in its class photo editors.
