Product FAQs

Q: What can COOL 360 do for me?
A: Move beyond traditional photos with Ulead COOL 360!
  • Quickly and easily transform a series of photos into 360° panoramic scenes or images.
  • Share panoramas via e-mail, the Web, in MS Office documents, as screen savers and more.
  • Create great-looking panoramas fast using COOL 360's intuitive interface and easy-to-use Wizard.
  • Excellent results are easy with COOL 360's advanced photo stitching, warping, aligning and blending tools.
Q: How do I capture great photos for creating panoramic images?
A: Panoramic photos are substantially different from other types of photographs. It takes approximately twelve images to complete a 360° panorama, depending on the type of camera and camera lens you use. There are two good techniques, outlined below, you should combine to ensure you get suitable images.
  • Think about a clock: take one picture at each hour mark. This may not work for all cameras, but it can be helpful. Don't worry if you only get eleven shots or you need a thirteenth, it should still work. Thinking about the hours on a clock can help you remember where you are in a sequence of images.
  • Overlap adjacent images: COOL 360 needs overlap between adjacent images. Overlap adjacent images by a minimum of 15% on each side. Use prominent landmarks to line up the shot. By using a combination of the two methods outlined above, you should achieve excellent results on your first try.
Q: Do I need to use a tripod?
A: A tripod, while not required, certainly helps. Ensuring that a series of images has consistent capture angles and a smooth horizon, a tripod allows COOL 360 to produce better results. If a tripod is not used, try to keep the camera capture angle consistent and ensure that the horizon of each picture is lined up smoothly.
Q: How do I view my 360° panoramic image?
A: The COOL 360 Viewer is one way to navigate a 360° panoramic image.
  • From the Windows Start menu select Programs/Ulead COOL 360/Ulead COOL 360 Viewer.
  • From the COOL 360 Viewer File menu choose Open and then locate the panorama (IVR file) that you want to view.
  • Another method is to double-click any valid IVR or MOV file. The appropriate viewer will automatically open displaying the 360° panorama.

NOTE: Apple QuickTime® 3.0 or later must be installed to view MOV files.
Q: How do I share my panoramic images?
A: There are plenty of ways to share the panoramic images with family and friends:
  • E-mail: a one-click e-mail function opens your default e-mail client with your panorama automatically attached. COOL 360 even allows you to attach the built-in viewer to you panorama eliminating the need for family and friends to download extra plug-ins.
