Extending DTS 2-channel audio to 5.1-channel surround sound

When watching movies with 2-channel audio, you can experience a richer multi-channel experience by selecting the DTS Neo:6 feature. DTS Neo:6 can convert 2-channel stereo sources into 5.1-channel surround sound with the addition of an extra rear channel, a center surround.

The surround effect may not be as distinct as true discreet multi-channel system, but it a great experience watching your old DVDs in surround sound.

Try this tutorial to learn how to easily convert your 2-channel stereo source to 5.1-channel using DTS Neo:6.

To convert Dolby 2-channel audio to 5.1-channel surround sound:

1. Open WinDVD 9 and start playing your 2-channel stereo movie or audio CD.

2. Click Audio and select Playback Device to open the Enhance Audio Panel. In the Playback Device tab, you can select your audio output device, specify the audio technology, and adjust the speaker gains.

3. In Device Selection, select 6 speakers.

Note: The DTS Neo:6 option is available if 4 speakers to 8 speakers is selected.

4. In Technology, select DTS Neo:6.

Adjust the speaker gains until you achieve your desired sound quality.
