Importing video from AVCHD camcorders
AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) is a high definition recording format that uses the MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video codec. Compared to MPEG2, AVCHD can better compress video. Now, you can import from your AVCHD camcorder disc direct to the VideoStudio Timeline.
To import video from a DVD AVCHD camcorder disc:
- After recording your video using a DVD camcorder that supports AVCHD format, remove the disc from the camcorder and insert it in the DVD drive of your computer.
- Right-click Edit Step and select Insert DVD/DVD-R.

- The Select a DVD Title dialog box is displayed.
- Select your DVD camcorder under Drive and click Import.

- In the Import DVD dialog box, select the videos to add to the Timeline under Disc label.

- Click Import. You can now proceed to edit your AVCHD video.
