Importing SRT subtitles to your VideoStudio project

Subtitles are one of the popular features of commercial DVDs, HD-DVD or Blu-ray discs nowadays. It allows the viewers to read the dialogues being delivered onscreen or they can interactively select translations written in other languages like Dutch, Bahasa, Chinese etc.

VideoStudio allows you to add subtitles in .utf format or import Subrip (*.srt) files to your Timeline.

This tutorial shows you how you can import subtitles in .srt format.

To import .SRT files:

Before importing subtitles to the Timeline, it is important that you have all your video, overlay and audio clips in position on your Timeline. This is to avoid tedious and repetitive adjustments of subtitles in the Title track.

You can begin by creating a subtitle file for your videos. These files can be created using third-party applications and should be saved as an .SRT file.

Once you have your .SRT file ready, proceed to the Title Step and select Open Subtitle File.

Browse for the subtitle file you have created and click Open.

Click OK when VideoStudio prompts this message:

VideoStudio will position all subtitles on the Title track depending on the timecodes specified in your .SRT file.
