Cropping photos like a pro using Golden Ratio
Cropping can greatly enhance the composition of an image. You can frame a photograph to remove unimportant or distacting elements and draw the viewer's attention only to the most interesting part.
The first thing to do is to study your image carefully and after you have identified the focal point, you can easily frame and crop it like a pro using the Golden Ratio Crop Tool.
The Golden Ratio Crop Tool is based on the Divine Proportion Spiral, which is a guideline that was used by classical artists to ensure that the composition of their paintings was pleasing to the eye.

The image above is an example of the Golden Ratio grid that you can use for your images. You can select the orientation of this grid depending on your focus point. Assigning the focus point means placing the small circle of the Golden Ratio grid to an area in the image you find significant.
To crop a photo according to the golden ratio:
1. Open an image. The image sample below shows a woman in front of her computer.

Let's try cropping the image to include only the woman. Click Crop on the Toolbox.
3. On the Attribute Toolbar, click
and select a preset.
4. Now let's look at the photo and examine what could be our focus point. Let's make the woman's left eye our focus point.
5. Look at the Golden Ratio presets and try to determine which would be appropriate, given the sun's location in the image. For this tutorial, we will use Top left - portait preset.
6. Starting from the left eye, click and drag your mouse over the image to create a rectangular marquee with the Golden ratio grid.

Note: The Golden Ratio Crop Tool is available in both ExpressFix Mode and Full Edit Mode. In FullEdit Mode, you need to identify a focal point beforehand, click on it, and drag to mark your cropping area. In ExpressFix Mode, you can click and drag the Golden Ratio Crop Tool the same way as the standard crop tool.
7.
Double-click on the area you want to keep or click
to finish.
