Q:	Do I need a special computer to edit HD video?
A:	No. Editing high-definition video with VideoStudio 11 Plus, even on mid-range machines, is as easy as editing standard-definition video, thanks to Smart Proxy. Smart Proxy converts all your HD video into smaller, easy-on-the-resources proxy files for you to edit. This is a lossless process, because the proxy files always refer back to the original, full-resolution high-definition files. Output your final production in superb quality HD. Q:	What can I do with multiple overlay tracks?
A:	You can create sophisticated picture-in-picture and montage effects with up to six overlay tracks. You can also apply dynamic spinning motion to your video clips, in each of the overlay tracks, as they enter and exit the frame. The Movie Wizard's new templates make full use of the overlay track features in VideoStudio 11 Plus.

Q:	Is the VideoStudio11 series fully compatible with Vista?
A:	Yes. Both VideoStudio 11 and VideoStudio 11 Plus carry the "Works with Vista™" logo.

Q:	Can I edit out commercials from TV shows I record?
A:	Yes. Once you've captured your TV show to your computer, use Ad-Zapper to automatically find the commercials. Then you can easily cut them out.

Q:	Can I burn HD DVD discs using VideoStudio 11 Plus?
A:	Sure. VideoStudio offers end-to-end HD DVD production. Capture your HD video and edit it. then select an HD template, modify it to your liking, and burn an HD DVD that will play back your beautiful HD footage.

Q:	What can I play back with the InterVideo® WinDVD® Player?
A:	You can play back all your standard definition video as well as MPEG-2 HD, AVCHD and WMV-HD video, right from your computer.

Q:	Can I include standard definition video in my high-definition projects?
A:	Yes, you can. Not only are you able to include standard definition video in your high-definition projects, but VideoStudio 11 Plus automatically "upsamples" it to closely match the superb image quality of high-definition video.

Q:	How do I make surround sound tracks?
A:	You can create true Dolby® Digital 5.1 surround sound automatically with one-click 2-to-5.1 channel upsampling. You can also maintain greater control over your surround sound tracks by using the surround sound mixer's panning capability to precisely place your sound elements where you like. It's as easy as dragging and dropping.

Q:	How do I import RM (Real Media®) files into VideoStudio 11?
A:	You should install RealPlayer first. The program is located in the utility folder on the program CD. Once you've installed RealPlayer, you'll be able to then import RM files.

Q:	Which version of Microsoft ActiveSync does VideoStudio 11 support?
A:	VideoStudio 11 supports version 3.8 for mobile devices.

Q:	Can I import video from my DVD camcorder?
A:	Yes, you can. Whether your camcorder records in DVD+RW, DVD-RW, or DVD-RAM, VideoStudio supports it. You may have to "finalize" the disc in your camcorder before it will be correctly read by VideoStudio, however. For instructions on finalizing a disc, refer to your camcorder's user manual.

Q:	What other kinds of camcorders does VideoStudio support?
A:	You can capture or import video from your DV, HDV or AVCHD (Plus version only) camcorder, as well as older analog sources like 8 mm camcorder or VHS tape. For full instructions on how to import from AVCHD, see item below.

Q:	When I import video from an AVCHD camcorder, is there anything I need to watch out for?
A:	If you wish to capture the video from your camcorder (Hard-dsc or DVD) you should start VideoStudio first, then connect your device. In the capture step, select "Import from DVD/DVD-VR" and select your device – it will usually show up with a drive letter like a hard drive. Then click import, and it will offer you the choice to select the clips that you want to import and edit.

Q:	I want to add DV date or timestamp to my video. Can VideoStudio 11 help me to do that?
A:	Yes, you can add that in the capture step, and select to have the date/time stamp show onscreen for the entire video, or for a preset period, like 3 seconds.

Q:	My video was shot in poor light. It's very dark and the color seems very yellow. Can I use VideoStudio 11 to fix it?
A:	Sure, use VideoStudio's new Auto Color and Tone tools to improve the appearance of your video.

Q:	Can I mix video formats in VideoStudio 11?
A:	Yes, you can mix and match all supported formats on the timeline and output to the format of your choice. Note, however, that performance with certain varieties of DivX or Xvid files may be noticeably slower.

Q:	I am using some video that I made long ago on a VCD, and it has all kinds of blocky artifacts on it. Can I improve it?
A:	Yes, VideoStudio's new DeBlock and DeSnow filters do a great job of improving digital noise and artifacts on video.

Q:	Can I import DivX® video?
A:	Yes, if you have the appropriate DivX codec installed on your PC. Visit www.divx.com to download a free codec.

Q:	Sony® PSP® and Apple® iPod® can playback H.264 video files. Can I use VideoStudio 11 Plus to create H.264 video for PSP or iPod?
A:	Yes, you can select a suitable profile for any of these devices in the Share step.

Q:	Can I convert video files for Microsoft® Zune™ with VideoStudio 11?
A:	Yes, VideoStudio supports conversion of video to Zune format.

Q:	Can I combine DVD subtitles with video when I import video from DVD?
A:	Yes, when you use the "Import from DVD/DVD-VR" tool, you can now select a subtitle track in the language of your choice, which will be included with your video.

Q:	I saw both VideoStudio 11 Plus and VideoStudio 11.5 Plus in my local retail store. What's the difference between VideoStudio 11 Plus and VideoStudio 11.5 Plus? Can I upgrade to VideoStudio 11.5 Plus?
A:	Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 Plus is comprised of the VideoStudio 11 Plus program along with the VideoStudio 11 Power Pack and Media One Plus.
