Video cameras usually have a date/time stamping feature. If this feature is turned on when you record your video to a DV tape, the date/time stamp is automatically imprinted on the video frames. In VideoStudio, you can display this date/time stamp as titles by using the DV Quick Scan and Capture Wizard.

To add date/time info when capturing from a DV tape:

  1. In Capture Step, click DV Quick Scan.

  2. The DV Quick Scan and Capture Wizard is displayed for you to scan and import your scenes. Go to the part of the video that you want to capture and select Current position in Scan Scene - From.

  3. Click Start Scan to begin scanning your video.

  4. The scanned video clips are displayed. Click Stop Scan to end the process.

  5. After scanning your DV tape, click Next. This will open the Capture to Timeline Settings dialog box.

  6. Select Insert to Timeline and Add video date information as title. To display the date the scene was recorded in the entire duration of the video, select Entire video.

Note: Select Only during a specified time to display the date only on specific parts of your video.

  7. Click Next to capture the scenes. A progress bar shows the capturing process.

  8. When completed, the captured scenes are automatically added to the timeline with the date displayed as title.
