AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) is a high definition recording format that uses the MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video codec. Compared to MPEG2, AVCHD can better compress video. Now, you can import from your AVCHD camcorder disc direct to the VideoStudio Timeline.

To import video from a DVD AVCHD camcorder disc:

  1. After recording your video using a DVD camcorder that supports AVCHD format, remove the disc from the camcorder and insert it in the DVD drive of your computer.

  2. Right-click Edit Step and select Insert DVD/DVD-R.

  3. The Select a DVD Title dialog box is displayed.

  4. Select your DVD camcorder under Drive and click Import.

  5. In the Import DVD dialog box, select the videos to add to the Timeline under Disc label.

  6. Click Import. You can now proceed to edit your AVCHD video.
