CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite X3 includes two new volumes of CorelDRAW® Design Collection — a set of 100 templates that can help you create professional-looking documents quickly and easily. Based on 11 creative styles, the templates let you carry the same theme across your letters, envelopes, business cards, labels, flyers, and brochures. After you choose a layout and design style, you can easily make your documents unique by customizing them with CorelDRAW.
In addition to its templates, CorelDRAW Design Collection offers design ideas and step-by-step procedures to help you customize your documents.

Samples of templates
To install CorelDRAW® Design Collection
Volumes 2 and 3 of CorelDRAW Design Collection are included on CD 4 in the boxed product. To install the collection, you first need to install CorelDRAW X3 Graphics Suite and register the product online when you are prompted to do so. When you register your product, you will receive the serial number needed to install CorelDRAW Design Collection. Make a note of the serial number.
If you did not register CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 after installing it, you need to call Customer Service to obtain the serial number of CorelDRAW Design Collection. - Insert CD 4 in the CD drive.
If the installation wizard does not start automatically, click Start on the Windows® taskbar, and click Run. Type D:\Autorun.exe, where D is the letter that corresponds to the CD drive.
- Follow the InstallShield® wizard instructions for installing the software.
Note: When you reach the page asking you to select program features to install, you can choose between two format options: A4 and Letter. The A4 option is suitable for flyers, brochures, and letterheads that will be printed on A4 paper; the Letter option is suitable for the same documents printed on letter-sized paper.
To start CorelDRAW® Design Collection
- On the Windows taskbar, click Start > All programs > CorelDRAW Design Collection.
- Click Begin.
To choose a template
CorelDRAW Design Collection is intuitive and easy to use. You can choose a template by following these three steps:
- Select a layout.
- Choose a design style.
- Start a document with CorelDRAW, based on the selected layout and design style.

Step 1: Select a layout
On the Templates page, click in the Select layout area to choose a layout. You can choose from the following layouts: Card, Stationery Set, Folded Brochure, Flyer, or Gift Certificate.

The selected layout is highlighted in orange, and the layout is named and illustrated. The Stationery Set layout, selected in this example, lets you create business cards, letterheads, envelopes, and address labels.
Step 2: Select a design style
In the Select style area, click a thumbnail to choose a design style.

An outline is displayed around the selected design style.
The preview window displays the selected layout and design styles.

In this example, the layout is Stationery Set, and the design style is Contemporary.
The panel on the right displays the names of the selected layout and design style.

Step 3: Start a document with CorelDRAW®, based on the selected layout and design style
Click Open in CorelDRAW.
If you have selected the Stationery Set layout, you are prompted to choose from the following templates: business card, letterhead, envelope, or address label.
CorelDRAW automatically starts to display a document that is based on your chosen template. You can now customize your document.
To access design ideas
The Design Ideas page shows you examples of how several combinations of layout and design styles can be transformed into unique documents for small businesses. These examples include templates customized for a restaurant, a real estate business, and a theater group.
- Click the Design Ideas tab.
- In the Select layout area, click a layout.

In this example, the selected layout is Folded Brochure.
- In the Select style area, the leftmost thumbnail represents the original template. Click any of the other thumbnails to view an example of a customized template.

A restaurant template is selected in this example.
The preview window displays a customized version of the template.

The original template has been customized in CorelDRAW to create a takeout menu for a Parisian-style restaurant and wine bar.
- In the Open template in CorelDRAW area, pay attention to the list of changes made to the original template. This list can give you useful ideas and tips for your own design.

In this example, the original template has been customized by replacing the company logo and changing the fonts. Also, a watermark with the company logo was added to the back of the takeout menu.
- For a closer look at the customized template, click Open template in CorelDRAW.
To view step-by-step procedures for commonly performed tasks
The How To page provides step-by-step procedures to guide you in completing common tasks, such as adding text, using layout tools, and printing your documents. To view a procedure, click the procedure title in the Table of Contents on the left side of the page.
