Adding perspective drop shadows to objects in Corel PHOTO-PAINT® 10

In Corel PHOTO-PAINT 10, you can add perspective drop shadows to objects. This feature lets you create three-dimensional depth in an object.

To add a perspective drop shadow to an object:

1. Select an object.
2. Click the Interactive drop shadow tool.
3. Drag in the direction you want the drop shadow to display.
4. If you want to adjust the transparency of the drop shadow, drag the Opacity triangle handle.
5. If you want to create a soft edge on the drop shadow, drag the Feather triangle handle.

Updating row numbers automatically in Quattro® Pro 9

In Quattro Pro 9, you can update row numbers automatically using @ROWS. This feature lets you number spreadsheet rows, and Quattro Pro 9 automatically renumbers them when you add or delete rows.

To update row numbers automatically:

1. In cell A1, type @ROWS (A$1..A1). The number one (1) displays as the value of that cell.
2. Select cell A1.
3. Click Edit, Copy.
4. Select cell A1 and any rows you want numbered.
5. Click Edit, Paste.

Inserting special characters or symbols in WordPerfect 9 for Linux

In WordPerfect 9 for Linux, you can insert special characters or symbols. This feature lets you add mathematical symbols, foreign language characters, or legal trademarking symbols to a document.

To insert a special character or symbol:

1. Click where you want to insert a symbol or special character.
2. Click Insert, Symbol.
3. Choose a symbol type or a character set from the Set list box.
4. Choose a symbol from the Symbols list box.
5. Click one of the following:

• Insert – inserts the symbol and leaves the Symbols dialog box open
• Insert and close – inserts the symbol and closes the Symbols dialog box
