Corel Corporation announced that its merger agreement with Inprise/Borland Corporation has been terminated by mutual agreement of the two companies without payment of any termination fees. Since 1988, Corel Corporation has been committed to the Macintosh® platform. Due to the aging source code of WordPerfect® 3.5 for Macintosh®, Corel evaluated the possibility of developing a new version of WordPerfect for Macintosh but found this to be unfeasible. However, Corel's recent strategic acquisition of the MetaCreations PainterTM, KPT® and Bryce® product lines demonstrates our continued commitment to provide leading-edge creative products for Macintosh. |

In April 2000, Corel released a free downloadable update for Corel® PainterTM. Corel's Macintosh graphics line also includes CorelDRAWTM 8 for Power Macintosh®, Corel PHOTO-PAINTTM 8 for Power Macintosh and Corel® KnockOut 1.5 for Macintosh® which offers award-winning powerful masking tools for graphics professionals. |

Corel signed another multi-year strategic agreement with EBIZ Enterprises, Inc. in May which will enhance Linux users' access to the Internet and offer the companies' products and services to each other's Linux customers. In March of this year, EBIZ announced its new line of dual boot workstations based on the Corel® LINUX® OS and Microsoft® Windows® 98. Corel donated more than $100,000 US (retail value) worth of Linux software to students in the Dallas area at an exciting event held in Dallas, Texas on April 29. Corel donated 2,000 copies of Corel LINUX OS and WordPerfect Office 2000 for Linux to the CAST (Connect A Student To Technology) program, created by the Dallas Independent School District. Just a few days later, GraphOn Corporation announced an exclusive agreement with Corel to market and distribute WordPerfect Office 2000 for the Windows and Linux platforms and Corel LINUX OS for the desktop as part of GraphOn's planned solution for China's educational system. China's Ministry of Education has already seen successful implementations of GraphOn Bridges Web-enabling software, which provides a thin client, centrally managed system for deploying applications into China's schools.
