Digitalism Tour 2002 highlights

Back in July, the DaVE (the Digitalism Vehicle) set out on a seven-month journey across North America. Its mission: to provide an environment where creative professionals, art students and premiere digital tool manufacturers can learn about and celebrate the revolutionary art movement known as digitalism.

With stops at trade shows, museums, art schools, universities, retail locations and festivals, the Tour garnered a lot of attention. In fact, it earned a spot on NBC's Today Show in August, where host Katie Couric had her portrait painted digitally. Continuing on to Atlanta, DaVE dropped by Good Day Atlanta, the city's largest morning show. At the SGIA (Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association) conference in St. Louis, DaVE won first prize in the Best Exhibit Design category. And in San Francisco, TechTV featured DaVE in its "That's Cool" segment. The show can be viewed in 34 million households in North America and 70 countries worldwide. Now that's cool.

Quick tip

Fading objects in Corel R.A.V.E.™ 2
In Corel R.A.V.E.™ 2, you can use transparencies to create a fade effect. Simply increasing the transparency level makes the object less visible.

Here's how:
1. Select an object.
2. In the Timeline Docker window/palette, drag the black dot associated with the object to increase its life span.
3. Click the end frame in the object's time line.
4. Click the Insert Keyframe button.
5. Open the Interactive tools flyout and click the Interactive Transparency tool.
6. On the Property Bar, choose Uniform from the Transparency Type list box.
7. In the Starting Transparency box on the Property Bar, type 100 and press Enter.
8. Click the Play button to watch the object fade.
