Painter 12.2 Service Pack 1 Update
New! Performance optimization for Mac users with 64-bit systems
The Mac Memory Manager lets your system take advantage of any available RAM that you choose to designate on your machine. Out of the box, the Memory Manager will NOT be running. Check out the Read Me details to learn how to turn it on. When you do, Painter will use all of the available memory that you designate in the preferences and have you working lightning fast.
New! Layer improvements
Enjoy vast improvements to the quality of layers and selections while transforming, moving, selecting and pasting.
Here's what our beta testers are saying about the Painter 12.2 Service Pack 1 update:
"Hi Corel. I finally was able to play with the last Painter Beta. I made a 300 ppi file 15x25" in size. I had 42 layers with 1/3 raster, 1/3 watercolor, and 1/3 liquid ink. I tried to keep going until it crashed but it never did. I think it was a good workout. Everything rendered very quickly and with no glitches at all. The final file was 120 MB."
"Hi Painter Team. Just wanted to give you some quick thumbs up feedback. I am having good results using the newest build SP1 on MacPro for a complex collage project. Thus far I have experienced fast response times working with a 220 MB file, 6000 px x 2000 px, with 17 layers, while another 17 images are also open in Painter . I'll keep you posted if I experience any slowdowns as the file grows. So far very impressed at the handling of large files with this build."
Painter 12.2 Update
New! Flow Maps
Now, you can have even more control over how paint interacts with your canvas! Introducing Flow Maps, a creative way to direct the flow of paint from your Real Watercolor and Real Wet Oil brushes. This technology guides pigment/oil/water to create less saturation at the peaks of textures and more saturation in the valleys. Included are 3 new watercolor brushes, 3 expressive Flow Maps and new palettes that allow you to create custom Flow Map textures and brushes.

New! Multi-Touch support for Wacom® Intuos5 and Cintiq 24HD touch interactive pen displays
Navigate your canvas with precision and ease using finger gestures on your pen tablet. The enhanced and intuitive Multi-Touch support allows you to pan, rotate, zoom and more – all at the same time! It's a seamless and responsive way of positioning and manipulating the canvas in just the right direction, with only a few simultaneous finger motions. In addition, you can alter the rotation and zoom reference point depending on the position of your fingers; center is no longer the only option!
New! Vertical Docking
With simple drag-and-drop functionality, you can dock a palette header to the vertical edge of the application window. Move palettes around by simply detaching them from the workspace, and easily dragging the palette to another workspace location.
New! Corel® Cinco for Painter*
A handy companion application that gives you the ability to remotely access and control Painter from your iPad. This app allows you to expand your canvas area while reducing onscreen clutter and distractions. Save time and stay focused on your art, as Cinco can also replace the need for traditional shortcut keys. With a few simple steps, you can download Corel Cinco for Painter from the Apple App Store. Plus, you can securely control Painter with an Authentication Code that pairs Corel Cinco with your desktop.
